Shaw University, founded in 1865, is a private, co-educational, liberal arts college affiliated with the Baptist Church.  The University awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Shaw University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges(SACSCOC) to award the associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees.

Shaw University offers a variety of academic programs leading to a B.S., B.A., A.A., A.S. and Master's in Education and Divinity. 

Shaw University's Center for Alternative Programs in Education (CAPE) is an adult degree program designed to serve adult students interested in earning an undergraduate degree that fits with the multiple responsibilities of the average working adult. Divinity School

Applicants to the Divinity programs at Shaw University are required to submit a $50.00 application fee as well as the following required paperwork:
1.  Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities.
2.  Two letters of reference
3.  Health forms completed by your physician (resident students only)
